Eurrrrooopahahahh pt. III/tres/threee/3/trois/drei

KØBENHAVEN.

Copenhagen. My favorite part of the tour. The city reminded me of Austin a bit - Lots of natural water sources, hip cafés, and a huge bike culture. And Houston a bit - not too crowded, super down to earth people, and a majority of the people speak two languages. Have a look..

On the overnight to Copenhagen. The living quarters were tight. There were two bunks above mine and three on the other side.

Amie met a new friend!

The weekend we happened to be there was also Copenhagen Culture week, where all sorts of wild things were goin down. Live mannequinz, a mouse maze, random street performances, and free beer !!

I had the pleasure of running into D(D)W favorite, sir Henrik Vibskov. Really Nice Guy.

later that night...

Last train to Stockholmmm..

Our new Aussie friend... I forgot his name, but he was really cool..

WE missed WE HAVE BAND in Vienna, but got to see them in Sunny Stockholm.. We were actually there mostly during the night time..ANywayy, they had a great show, great venue, free of charge. And they remembered me from Austin! And I bought a tee shirt!

Our last day in Copenhagen, we rented bikes and biked around the city and eventually found ourselves in Freetown Christiana. If you haven't heard or been to Christiana, it's basically a hippie commune in the middle of Copenhagen. When you walk in, you feel like you stepped back in time and into one of Ken Kesey's Acid Test parties. You couldn't take many pictures once you were inside, because everyone would start yelling at you. But, I managed to get a feww..

There's a lake there..

Outside Christiana
we weren't supposed to be on the grasswe biked to Copenhagen's most visited lady...The Little Mermaid

ET VOILA. SO. FUN.

Eurooopaahhh pt. I/Uno/One/1/Un/Eins

As expected, Euro tour 2009 was a complete success. The Joo, Bear and I took in the sites, rode some bikes and hobnobbed with the locals..

Here are pictures from the first, more-sober leg of the trip in beautiful Zermatt, Switzerland..

Side note: I think that one of the employees of American Airlines needed a digital camera real bad. When I arrived in Switzerland and went for my camera, it was nowhere to be found. But that didn't stop me one bit, there was an electronic store in the train station!..

trying out the new camera...

I call this one...Asleep on The Train..

the view outside of the hostel..

Zermatt is filled with hundreds of quaint, little cottages like this one. decorated with colorful, vibrant flowers that seem to bloom year-round

The Matterhorn is Top Dog in Zermatt, it can be seen from almost anywhere in the town. And if you can't see the real thing, there's probably a picture or a poster or a replica of it hanging on a wall near you

It took about 3 miles and a lot of lung power to get to this restaurant, tucked away in the middle of the hiking trails

There were lots of visages like this one, hidden throughout the restaurant..I thought this one was the coolest..

....A view of the MATTERHORN from our table..

I had the Bratwurst mit onions..and an Ottakringer on the side...

..butterfly chillin, Zermatt style...(good snap dub)...
