Slate had a good article concerning Jay-Z's limpwristed attack on Auto-Tune. I do strongly dislike it but I think its even worse when someone tries to actually use it for pitch correction instead of just being a gimmick. I also though it was funny that you have a song off of 808s proceeding DOA.
ReplyDeleteAs for the rest of the mixtape I feel like it may have its place in some coke-fueled late night party atmosphere but the grating nature of Lil Wayne is far too much to deal with in a normal state of mind. Turtle Tantrum seemed really dropped in and didn't really fit in with the fast paced nature of the majority of the tracks.
